UMPO.AC.ID - The Social Welfare Development Council (MPKS) of the Muhammadiyah Regional Board (PDM) Ponorogo once again organized the "Ramadhan Peduli" (Ramadhan Cares) program, held at the Expotorium of Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO) from Saturday to Sunday, March 7-8, 2026. This event, coinciding with 18-19 Ramadhan 1447 H, was a special moment as it brought together approximately 753 participants, including orphans, the underprivileged, people with disabilities, and the elderly from 21 Child Social Welfare Institutions (LKSA) across Ponorogo.
The Rector of UMPO, Dr. Rido Kurnianto, M.Ag., stated in his speech that this program is an extraordinary agenda that continues to grow and expand in reaching out to the community with a broader spectrum. He emphasized that this forum is deeply noble because it is held during the holy month of Ramadhan, where every good deed fought for in the way of Allah is promised the reward of heaven.
Dr. Rido also encouraged the MPKS organizers and prayed that all the children in attendance would become successful individuals in this world and the hereafter.
The Chairman of MPKS PDM Ponorogo, Zulkarnain Ashsyahifa, M.Hum., explained that this is the second year of the Ramadhan Peduli series. He expressed his deep appreciation and gratitude to individual donors and various Muhammadiyah Business Charitable Ventures (AUM) that fully supported the activity, including RSUA, RSUM, UMPO, BPR Rasuna, BPRS Mitra, RGS, SAC, SDMT, SD Muhammadiyah Ponorogo, PDM, PDA, as well as Lazismu and its Service Offices (KLL). This synergy allowed participants to experience the joy of Ramadhan through various forms of assistance and care.
The two-day series of activities was designed comprehensively, offering more than just breaking the fast and pre-dawn meals together. Participants received spiritual guidance through a Ramadhan Study with Dr. Imam Mujahid, the distribution of donations in the form of cash and goods (door prizes), and technical guidance for establishing Madrasah Diniyah or Taklim Councils. Additionally, a talent and interest mapping session was conducted specifically for 12th-grade high school students. Due to the importance of this future-mapping session, several 12th-grade participants were asked to stay overnight at the venue to receive more intensive preparation.
